Sales Director. Risk Management Software. Canada
We are looking for a battle-tested enterprise sales professional with a track record of selling complex risk management or capital markets software into tier one and tier two financial institutions across the Canada.
This is not a role for someone who has sold software to small teams. This is for someone who has navigated multi-million dollar procurement cycles at global investment banks, asset managers, hedge funds, and clearing houses – and won. THE OPPORTUNITY
You’ll be joining a specialist financial technology business at a pivotal growth stage. Your remit is to open new logo opportunities and expand existing relationships across the Canadian financial services market — working directly with Chief Risk Officers, Heads of Technology, COOs, and Quantitative Risk teams. You’ll have the backing of a deeply experienced technical pre-sales and delivery team, and a product that genuinely competes at the highest level.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
• Full ownership of the Canadian sales pipeline – new business development and account expansion
• Engaging senior decision-makers and economic buyers across front office, risk, and technology functions
• Managing complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles from qualification to close
• Navigating procurement, legal, and vendor management processes at large financial institutions
• Collaborating closely with pre-sales, product, and implementation to deliver compelling proposals
• Representing the business at Canada-based industry conferences, client events, and roundtables
• Providing accurate pipeline forecasting and CRM discipline throughout
YOUR BACKGROUND — WHAT WE NEED TO SEE
• Proven enterprise software sales into tier one or tier two financial institutions in Canada
• Domain experience in: market risk, credit risk, counterparty risk, collateral management, regulatory reporting, or derivatives pricing
• Track record of closing six and seven-figure software deals with complex commercial structures
• Experience selling into risk technology, financial engineering, or quantitative analytics functions
• Background at or alongside enterprise financial technology vendors in the capital markets or risk management space
• Ability to hold credible, technically grounded conversations with quants, risk managers, and CIOs
• Hunter mentality with the patience and discipline to see long enterprise sales cycles through
• Based anywhere in the Canada with ability to travel domestically and occasionally internationally
DESIRABLE — NOT ESSENTIAL
• Familiarity with risk platforms, trade lifecycle systems, or portfolio analytics software
• Existing network across Canadian risk and technology leadership at major financial institutions
• Exposure to buy-side and sell-side regulatory change (Basel III/IV, FRTB, SA-CCR, CCAR/DFAST)
• Experience working in a scaling or PE-backed fintech environment
