We are partnering with a leading global digital banking technology provider to appoint a Sales Director (Player-Coach) to drive growth across the UK and Ireland markets. This is a key leadership role, ideal for a high-performing individual contributor who also enjoys mentoring and developing others.

The Role
This is a “player-coach” position, combining hands-on new business sales with the opportunity to support and guide a small, high-performing team. You will take ownership of strategic accounts while driving new logo acquisition across banks and financial institutions in the UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead new business sales across the UK & Ireland, with a focus on digital banking and customer engagement platforms
  • Act as a senior individual contributor, owning complex, enterprise-level sales cycles end-to-end
  • Coach, mentor, and support junior sales team members to drive overall team performance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Tier 1 and Tier 2 banks
  • Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy aligned to regional growth objectives
  • Represent the business at industry events, client meetings, and networking engagements
  • Maintain a strong market presence through regular client interaction, including social engagement and relationship building

Your Profile

  • 10+ years’ experience in enterprise sales within financial technology, ideally digital banking platforms
  • Background from a leading digital banking or customer engagement platform provider (highly desirable)
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales targets and winning complex deals
  • Experience operating in a player-coach or leadership capacity
  • Strong network across UK and/or Irish banking institutions
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Commercially driven, entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on approach
