Head of Product, High Growth SaaS Firm
A dynamic and disruptive FinTech SaaS startup firm was seeking an experienced Head of Product to amalgamate and modrenise their product offering. The company had just achieved a Series B round of funding and they were in a strong position to offer the successful candidate a highly lucrative but challenging opportunity.
The Head of Product needed to be obsessively focussed on the end user, be passionately data driven and a natural team player who enjoyed working closely with technical engineers and designers. Being based in a start-up environment, flexibility was key, and the Head of Product needed to thrive on solving a range of complex and ever-changing problems. As well as being super talented, having a passionate attitude, and a zest for helping people, the successful candidate needed define the product strategy for the organisation. For all of this to come together the successful individual needed strategic thinking, be able to interpret user data and information analysis as well as using their creativity and technical knowledge to create high-end products.

The challenges of recruiting for this type of organisation tend to be reservations from candidates as although there is a lot of kerb appeal working within a start-up company, often, the riskier nature of the business can cause candidates to get cold feet at the offer and acceptance stage.
iopa Solutions consulted the client throughout the recruitment briefing to highlight what candidates would be looking for to enable them to confidently make a career move from perhaps a more established company to a start-up. With the clients expectations managed and a briefing on how to best sell the opportunity to potential candidates within the interview process, we were ready to partner on this search.
Our consultants narrowed down the search to 28 individuals which were interviewed and eventually 7 of these were shortlisted and put froward to the client within 2 weeks. The client interviewed each candidate and after a series of 2nd stage interviews and a technical test/presentation they offered the role to the successful candidate. iopa Solutions ironed out all of the details of the package on offer and negotiated a quick start date to keep the momentum going.
The company has since hired 3 more people within its product and 2 more people within its pre-sales team from iopa Solutions and the feedback has been that they are extremely satisfied with the calibre of new recruits.
